I’m back

It’s been a year and a half since I last wrote, and honestly, the break was much needed. When I started blogging, I underestimated not only the challenge of writer’s block but also the pressure of fitting into the box I had created for myself.

After finishing our first season of baseball travel, we fully embraced the offseason. We spent time with family, processed some difficult and heartbreaking news, and planned our five-year anniversary trip—a long-awaited adventure abroad. We spent 21 days exploring Italy, truly soaking it all in, before ending with a one-week cruise to France and Spain. It was such a fun trip, and planning it was just as exciting! I’ll be sharing a post soon with all the details in case you ever find yourself planning a similar journey.

Once we got back, the holidays rolled in, and before we knew it, another new year had begun. But perhaps the biggest reason I stepped away from writing was because, in January of last year—after five years of infertility—we found out we were expecting. It was the most unexpected and joyful journey, and now that baby is already nearing six months old.

Time truly is a thief. As I sit here, holding my sleeping baby and reflecting on all of these memories, it’s amazing how quickly they condense into just a few sentences. But in reality, they hold a year and a half’s worth of life—moments I could never have predicted. And I’d love to share more of them with you.

Now, I’ve lived through two full seasons as a traveling coach’s wife, and this season, we’re adding a baby to the mix! I’ve learned so much about the highs and lows of life on the road with my husband’s baseball career, but in many ways, I feel like a beginner all over again. Life with a baby is different. Before she was born, we naively assumed she’d just “tag along” quietly—HAHA! Let’s just say, reality has been humbling.

I can’t wait to see how our perspectives shift this season. No matter what, our goal remains the same: stay together as a family, embrace the journey—both the good and the hard—and stay flexible.

I’d love to bring you along for the adventure! And if you’re a professional coach’s wife who has traveled full-time with a baby, I’d love to hear your tips. Let me know who you are and where you’re from in the comments, and don’t forget to subscribe to get my next post delivered to your inbox!
